Archive of Archives is a work in progress, conceived by Antoni Muntadas and promoted by the Muntadas Archive Association. Center of Studies and Research (ARXIU/AM).
As part of this project, our archive is connected to other archives at other institutions, thereby generating an online hub connecting other locations and places of knowledge. To do so the the ARXIU/XAM has proposed the creation of a website directing users to the documentation conserved by each institution.
The objective of this open working process is to facilitate access, physical as well as virtual, to material related to Muntadas’ work for the purpose of artistic or theoretical research, personal or collective, academic or non-academic.

[ PRELIMINARY NOTES BY MUNTADAS, 2014 ]
Bearing in mind my professional career throughout which I have developed projects around the world, I began to consider the possibility of creating an archive of archives, the conception of which should logically reflect this dynamic.
Archive of Archives would consist of a series of geographical locations linking up through the network. At each location the information gathered would enable the creation of a hub that would then connect with others permitting the consultation of the details of site-specific projects, either by viewing the material on site or online. These hubs could be set up and located in at sites already holding material and information. The scanning and uploading of physical documents would bring to a large network of hubs related to my work into being.
