A parte de las obras de cada autor la exposición presentó mezcladas con ellas una veintena de máquinas experimentales procedentes de los almacenes de la Escuela de Ingenieros Industriales de Barcelona que en su tiempo fueron dedicadas a la didáctica de la Física y la Mecánica. Ambos elementos, piezas artísticas y máquinas, compaginaban con una ambientación sonora ex profeso que reproducía música instrumental contemporánea original de Joaquim Oms y Mestres Quadreny y música contemporánea electrónica de Karlheinz Stockhausen y Herbert Eimert.

The exhibition title “Asian Protocols” refers to various conventions
related to certain official and private matters either in society generally

Antoni Muntadas, the Spanish-born, New York-based artist, is the second Audain Visual Artist in Residence for the 2012/13 year. For his residency, Muntadas will present his work About Academia at Audain Gallery, give an artist’s talk, participate in a public panel presentation and discussion, engage with students in the School for the Contemporary Arts at Simon Fraser University and work collaboratively with Audain Gallery to produce a new publication derived from his residency and exhibition.
