En Europa, la ciudadanía social es el estatus que se concede a los miembros de pleno derecho de una comunidad, es decir, al conjunto de derechos civiles, políticos, sociales, culturales y otros de ellos derivados, que una sociedad atribuye a sus ciudadanos. Este estatus o derecho conlleva un elemento diferencial y exclusivista, pues presenta un privilegio del que carece el ajeno a dicha colectividad.

Wall to Wall: Carpets by Artists studies some of the best contemporary art through the lens of craft: the woven carpet. This biennial tries to reboot the conversation on design by asking the urgent question are we human? and bringing together a density and diversity of voices to stimulate an extended debate. The project is not to present the latest designs or ideas about how to solve problems. Rather, it tries to show how design got to where it is. We think that the only way to face the present is to look in the rear-view mirror. This biennial is a kind of mirror.

La traduction est l’un des grands enjeux culturels et sociétaux d’un monde globalisé. Traduire, c’est préférer à une communication rapide et basique dans une langue dominante plus ou moins artificielle (aujourd’hui le «global english» ou globish) un travail coûteux et parfois déconcertant sur la différence des langues, des cultures, des visions du monde, pour les comparer et les mettre en harmonie.

El objetivo fue mostrar la diversidad de trayectorias y la vitalidad del arte sonoro del país, a través de más de 400 obras -piezas, instalaciones y documentación audiovisual- que hicieron visible/audible el sonido organizado en criterios artísticos. 

The relationship between art and life has carried out a crucial role in the development of the artistic languages of the Twentieth Century avant-gardes by means of experimentations which have sapiently combined both erudite and popular cultural elements. The massive presence of the newspaper in the artistic dimension -a theme that was investigated in an exemplary way in the exhibition presented by KirkVarnedoe at New York's MOMA in 1990 titled High and Low. Modern Art and Popular Culture- left its mark on the XX Century and also continues to characterise present day artistic production.
