Reservate der Sehnsucht

Catalogue of the exhibition "Reservate Der Sehnsucht" which follows the various options of settling into unease. On four floors of an industrial ruin in Dortmund temporary displays have been installed, where distaster and easy living come into equal effect. One of the more impact segments has been moderately reshaped as a museum-like white cube, another floor stages archaeological traces that aim at the ruin's own fascination. The impressive floor in the tower, with its vaults, galleries and steel girders, becomes itself a work on show. The functions of exhibition space and work on show are simply inverted here. "Reservate Der Sehnsucht" chooses to expose the spectator-the consumer- to the ambivalence of their zones of desires.
