The relationship between art and life has carried out a crucial role in the development of the artistic languages of the Twentieth Century avant-gardes by means of experimentations which have sapiently combined both erudite and popular cultural elements. The massive presence of the newspaper in the artistic dimension -a theme that was investigated in an exemplary way in the exhibition presented by KirkVarnedoe at New York's MOMA in 1990 titled High and Low.
