It is a wonderful coincidence that the year 2020 is one in which we at the Museum of Modern Art have a clear vision-indeed, we´re viewing it with 20/20 vision. It´s an exciting moment for MoMA as we present a year of exhibitions and performances in the galleries of our newly expanded building.
This year´s Appointment Calendar celebrates artworks around the themes of vision and ways of seeing, featuring 53 works as René Magritte´s iconic The False Mirror, Louis Bourgeois´Eyes, and Corita Kent´s E eye love from circus alphabet. Those engaged in the wonders and rewards of observing are depicted in Arthur Leipzig´s Children Looking at a Christmas Tree, Giorgio de Chirico´s enigmatic The Seer, and Susan Unterberg´s compelling close-up Untitled Number 26.
I hope that through these artistic visions you are inspired and encouraged to look at the world in new ways.
